Black pepper and jeera prices firmed by Rs 200 per quintal each in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists to meet the rising domestic and export demand.

Fall in supplies from producing regions also supported the rise in prices.

Black pepper prices rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 22,300-22,400 per quintal on fears that the unseasonal rains may delay pepper arrivals in producing state of Kerala.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher by Rs 200 each to finish at Rs 13,300-13,500 and Rs 14,400-14,800 per quintal respectively supported by a lack of supplies and dwindling stocks.
