Black pepper and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists and exporters.
Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Black pepper prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 27,300-27,500 per quintal, on fresh buying by retailers due to domestic demand amid low stocks.
Jeera common also traded higher at Rs 15,100-15,200 against previous closing of Rs 15,000-15,100. Likewise, jeera best quality advanced to Rs 17,100-17,200 from Rs 17,000-17,100 previously.
Traders said sentiments turned better, following rising domestic and export demand in tandem with a firming trend at futures market, helping pepper and jeera prices to trade higher in the wholesale kirana market here.
