Black pepper and jeera prices rose by up to Rs 500 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists and retailers amid tight stock availability.

Restricted supplies from producing regions and a firming trend in futures trade also supported the rise in prices. Black pepper prices rose further by Rs 500 to settle at Rs 28,500-28,800 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also moved up by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 14,700-14,800 and Rs 16,700-16,800 per quintal, respectively.
