Black pepper and turmeric prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal each in the national capital today due to subdued domestic and exports demand.

Weak trend in futures trade and increased arrivals from the producing belts mainly put pressure on the prices.

Black pepper and turmeric prices declined by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 21,700-21,900 and Rs 15,500-18,900 per quintal, respectively.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 14,100-14,400 and Rs 15,200-15,700 per quintal.

Marketmen said subdued domestic and export demand at prevailing prices, mainly attributed to the fall in select spice prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
