Pistachio declines on sluggish demand

Pistachio prices declined by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists.

Comfortable stocks following increased arrivals from overseas markets also put pressure on pistachio prices.

Pistachio Irani, hairati and peshawari fell by Rs 5 per kg to settle at Rs 820-870, Rs 1,095-1,195 and Rs 1,345-1,395 per kg, respectively.

Traders said subdued demand from retailers and stockists at existing higher levels amid steady inflow of new stocks from overseas markets weighed on the pistachio prices.
