A better trend prevailed in the local plastic market today with low density and high density polymer prices rising on the back of pick-up in industrial demand.
Rise in crude oil prices in the global market also supported the upside in select polymer prices.
Traders said besides pick-up in demand from consuming industries such as packaging and moulding units, firming trend in crude oil prices in global market also influenced polymer prices here.
Polymers are bio-products of crude oil. Low density (LD) No 40 and LD No 400 added a rupee each to Rs 90 and Rs 90.50 per kg, respectively.
High Density (HD) blowing and HD moulding (deshi) rose by the same amount to Rs 74 and Rs 81 per kg, respectively.
