The Sensex opened with a strong positive gap of 17 points at 6,545. Further advancement in select old and new economy stocks pushed the index to an early high of 6,569. The Sensex is now up 27 points at 6,555, while the Nifty has added six points to 2,019.Infosys has logged 1.11% gains (Rs 23) to Rs 2,100. Whipro and Satyam are up a per cent each at Rs 665 (up Rs 6) and Rs 432 (up Rs 3), respectively.Reliance (up Rs 2 to Rs 542) and ITC (up Rs 5 to Rs 1,493) have commenced with steady gains. ONGC, however, has eased in early trades to Rs 887 - down Rs 3.HDFC Bank has gained a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 538, and ICICI Bank is up 1.31% (Rs 5) to Rs 402. SBI is up Rs 3 at Rs 635.Hero Honda has added 1.12% (Rs 6) to Rs 558, and Tata Motors is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 452. Bajaj, however, which registered strong gains yesterday, has slipped a per cent (Rs 8) to Rs 1,183.Bharti is up a per cent (Rs 2) at Rs 224.
