Potato prices fell by 1.39% to Rs 927 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions due to low demand in spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato prices for March contract fell by Rs 13.10, or 1.39%, to Rs 927 per quintal, with a business volume of 146 lots.
The potato for delivery in April declined by Rs 12.20, or 1.32%, to Rs 906.10 per quintal, with a trading volume of 19 lots.
Market experts attributed the fall in potato prices at futures trade to offloading of positions by speculators, tracking a weak spot market trend on fresh supplies.
