Potato futures prices continued to slide for the third straight day by losing Rs 4 to Rs 589 per quintal today on subdued demand in the spot market against increased arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for delivery in April fell by Rs 4, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 589.00 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.
The potato for delivery in March contract also lost Rs 3.50, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 603.40 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.
Traders said adequate stocks positions, following increased arrivals from producing regions amid sluggish demand, mainly pulled down potato futures prices.
