Potato prices declined by Rs 4.80 to Rs 517.80 per quintal in futures trading today on sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate supply.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for June delivery declined by Rs 4.80, or 0.92%, to Rs 517.80 per quintal with a business turnover of 140 lots.
Similarly, potato for July contract delivery shed Rs 3.90, or 0.86%, to Rs 471 per quintal in 59 lots. Traders said the fall in potato prices was mostly due to increased supplies in the physical market against subdued demand.
