At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in July month contracts shot up by Rs 39.10, or 2.83% to Rs 1,419.50 per quintal in business turnover of 65 lots.
Market analysts said speculators engaged in enlarging positions, triggered by tight supplies from growing regions against rising demand in the spot market, influenced potato prices at futures trade here.
