Potato prices fell by Rs 2.30 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 488.50 per quintal in futures trade today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals from the producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for July-month contract lost Rs 2.30, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 488.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,513 lots.
The potato for delivery in June contract also shed Rs 1.20, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 485.50 per quintal, with a business turnover of 744 lots.
Marketmen said increased supplies in the spot market against sluggish demand mainly led to a fall in potato prices at futures trade.
