Potato futures prices today remained higher for the second straight session and added Rs 3.20 to Rs 748.90 per quintal on rising spot demand against limited arrivals from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in far-month March added Rs 3.20, or 0.43%, to Rs 748.90 per quintal in business turnover of three lots.

October potato traded higher by 80 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 1,066 per quintal in 10 lots.

Experts said apart from rising demand in the spot market, less arrivals from producing belts led to the rise in potato prices at futures trade.
