Ranbaxy Laboratories received the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)'s approval to sell a generic version of Novartis’s hypertension medicine Diovan. The company will enjoy 180 days of exclusive marketing rights for the drug in the American market.
 
 Amid fuel supply issues, state-owned Coal India has signed fuel supply pacts with power plants for a capacity of 73,075 MW. 
 
Ashok Leyland has decided to raise nearly Rs 600-700 crore via qualified institutional placement to pare debt.
