After a firm opening, the market continues to witness steep upsurge in old and new economy stocks. The sentiment remains optimistic in early noon trades, and the index has clocked an intra-day high of 6,546.The Sensex is now up 124 points at 6,543. The Nifty, too, is on a roll and has shot up 46 points to 2,054.Reliance has added 1.31% (Rs 7) to Rs 530, and HLL is up 1.24% (Rs 2) at Rs 155. ITC, however, has scaled down 2.26% (Rs 32) to Rs 1,369.Infosys is still trading with a per cent gain (Rs 21) at Rs 2,060. While Satyam has mopped up 3.44% gains (Rs 14) to Rs 411, Wipro is up 1.36% (Rs 10) at Rs 709.SBI has notched up 2.97% gains (Rs 18) to Rs 641. While ICICI Bank has logged 3.19% gains (Rs 11) to Rs 359, HDFC Bank has moved up nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 550.ONGC has surged 3% (Rs 24) to Rs 821. While Reliance Energy has firmed up 4.90% (Rs 25) to Rs 544, Tata Power is up nearly 2% (Rs 7) at Rs 384.Bharti continues to witness sharp buying support, and has soared 61.3% (Rs 13) to Rs 234. While BHEL shot up nearly 5% (Rs 36) to Rs 758, HDFC has jumped 2.32% (Rs 17) to Rs 771. Hindalco has advanced 2% (Rs 26) to Rs 1,313.Ranbaxy has appreciated by 2.80% (Rs 30) to Rs 1,103. Cipla has flared up 3.33% (Rs 9) to Rs 284, and Dr. Reddy's has gained 2% (Rs 15) to Rs 760.Grasim at Rs 1,339 (up Rs 22 or 1.71%), Gujarat Ambuja at Rs 457 (up Rs 9 or 1.94%) and ACC at Rs 359 (up Rs 9 or 2.44%) are trading with strong gains.
