Ranbaxy GDR slips 4.2%

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was down 0.31 per cent to 1,201.84 in the early morning trades on Tuesday. Among the ISDI global depository receipts, two advanced, one remained unchanged and four lost ground.
 
The major gainers were State Bank of India, up 0.83 per cent to $36.30, ITC, up 0.17 per cent to $29. The major losers were Ranbaxy, down 4.19 per cent to $26.50, Reliance, down 3.81 per cent to $25, and L&T, down 2.95 per cent to $22.69.
 
The ISDI, representing the GDRs and ADRs of 15 actively traded companies, advanced further by 1.01 per cent to 1,210.29 on December 6 from the previous level of 1,198.20.
 
However, the ISDI price to earnings ratio eased by 0.20 per cent to 20.88 per cent to 20.93 previously.
 
Among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were nine gainers, four losers and two ruled steady and among ISDI ADRs, six ADRs advanced and two ADRs lost ground.
 
The major gainers were ICICI Bank up 3.97 per cent to $19.65, Infosys up 1.97 per cent to $69.25 and Dr Reddy's up 1.86 per cent to $19.68. The major losers were Satyam down 2.97 per cent to $25.77, VSNL down 1.09 per cent to $9.98 and Wipro declined to $24.24 from $24.84 previously.
