The realty, metals, capital goods and oil and gas sectors suffered the most on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) as an all-round selling pressure gripped the market. |
The BSE Sensex reported the third-biggest fall in absolute terms, down 3.96 per cent or 615.22 points, and closed at 14,935.77 points. |

The newly launched real estate sector, Realty Index, was the largest loser, declining by 6.64 per cent or 521.54 points to close at 7,332.51 against Monday's close of 7,854.05 on the BSE.

The Metal Index was the second largest loser, which fell by 4.81 per cent or 559.64 points from 11,630.92 to close at 11,071.28 points. The Capital Goods Index declined 4.70 per cent to close at 12,697.41 points (13,321.78) and the Oil and Gas Index lost 4.40 per cent at 7,772.65 points (8,130.50). |

The Consumer Durables Index (3.99 per cent), Bankex (3.93 per cent), Tech Index (3.72 per cent), Auto Index (3.29 per cent), Healthcare Index (3.23 per cent) and IT Index (3.11 per cent) fell over 3 per cent each, while the FMCG Index, which was the least affected, declined by 2.38 per cent. |

The Realty Index fell by 11.20 per cent or 924.97 points in the last three trading days from 8,257.48 points compared with 5.33 per cent (615.22 points) decline in the Sensex. |
