Refined palmolein prices rose at the oilseeds market here today owing to rising domestic demand coupled with higher stockists off-take.
On the other hand, groundnut oil, after its recent steep fall, closed stable in the absence of market-moving factors.
Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial firmed up further on sustained demand from shippers and soap industry.
Castorseed futures also strengthened due to better export enquiries.
In the edible oil segment, refined palmolein gained by Rs 8 to Rs 480 per 10kg from yesterday's closing level of Rs 472, while groundnut oil held steady at Rs 780 per 10kg.
Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold firmed up by Rs 25 to Rs 3,825 per 100kg from Rs 3,800 and castoroil commercial moved up by Rs 5 to Rs 795 per 10kg, as against Rs 790 previously. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 550 per 10kg.
Moving to futures section, castorseeds December contracts resumed better at Rs 3,425 and traded in a range of Rs 3,480 and Rs 3,415 before ending at Rs 3,460 from overnight close of Rs 3,420, disclosing a further gain of Rs 40 per tonne.
