Refined oil prices rose by Rs 5.30 to Rs 626.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions in tandem with a firm trend in the spot markets.
Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 5.30, or 0.85% to Rs 626.80 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of eight lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in May gained Rs 2.30, or 0.37% to Rs 620.05 per 10 kg, with an open interest of a single lot.
Analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
