Refined soya oil edged higher by Rs 1.95 to Rs 653.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in enlarging their positions in tandem with a firming spot markets trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil futures for delivery in July rose by Rs 1.95, or 0.30% to Rs 653.50 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June surged by Rs 1.30, or 0.20% to Rs 649.80 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of two lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators, tracking a firming trend at the spot markets, mainly influenced the increase in refined soya oil prices at futures trade here

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices, they added.
