Refined soya oil prices remained higher by adding Rs 6.10 to Rs 586.20 per 10 kg in futures trading today, as traders enlarged their positions in local markets due to the ongoing marriage season.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, refined soyaoil for delivery in December-month rose by Rs 6.10, or 1.05 per cent to Rs 586.20 per 10 kg.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January surged by Rs 5.90, or one per cent to Rs 598.50 per 10 kg.

Analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot markets for the ongoing marriage season, mainly led to a rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.

They said the soya refined prices grew on continued buying support in the domestic as well as international markets.
