Refined oil prices rose Rs 12.10 to Rs 561.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today, as traders indulged in enlarging their positions, driven by firming trend at spot markets.

Restricted arrivals from overseas markets and festive season demand also supported the rise in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soya oil for May contract grew by Rs 12.10, or 2.20 per cent, to Rs 561.50 per 10 kg, with a business volume of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December contract gained Rs 6.75, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 551.55 per 10 kg, with a business turnover in nine lots, while November delivery rose by Rs 6.15, or 1.15 per cent, to Rs 537.45 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 831 lots.

Analysts said firming trend at the domestic markets following festive and marriage season, influenced the refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
