Refined soya oil up 0.6% on spot demand

Oil for delivery in February traded higher by 0.5%

Continued its upward movements for the third straight day, refined soya oil prices gained 0.64% to Rs 693.80 per 10 kg in futures trading today on strong spot demand supported by ongoing wedding season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in delivery in January rose by Rs 4.40, or 0.64%, to Rs 693.80 per 10 kg with an open interest of 99,870 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 3.50, or 0.51%, to Rs 686.30 per 10 kg in 99,240 lots.

Analysts said strong demand at the spot markets due to wedding season mainly responsible for persistent rise in refined soya oil futures at futures trade.
