Refined soya oil remained higher for the second day and prices added 0.85% to Rs 737.25 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising spot market demand due to marriage season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya for delivery in January added Rs 6.25, or 0.85%, to Rs 737.25 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,13,130 lots.

Similarly, oil for delivery in December gained Rs 5.85, or 0.80%, to Rs 734.20 per 10 kg in 89,770 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising demand in the spot market due to ongoing marriage season, which mainly kept refined soya oil prices remain higher for the second day at futures trade.
