Refined soyaoil prices rose by Rs 6.05 to Rs 600 per 10 kg in futures trade today, as traders enlarged their positions to meet the marriage season demand in the spot market.
Restricted arrivals from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soyaoil for January-month contract rose Rs 6.05 or 1.02 per cent to Rs 600 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 32 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contract gained Rs 5 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 607 per 10 kg, with a business volume of one lot, while December-delivery rose by Rs 4.45 or 0.77 per cent to Rs 583.60, with a business turnover of 22 lots.
Analysts said increased buying by speculators to meet the marriage season demand in the domestic market, mainly led to a rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
