The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was down 0.85 per cent to 1,136.90 on January 8 in early morning trades as the western markets opened for trading. Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs) , six advanced and one lost ground.
 
The major gainers were Reliance up 1.85 per cent to $32.50 with volumes of 599,980 GDRs, followed by Ranbaxy up 1.14 per cent to $26.51 and Hindalco up 0.83 per cent to $31.76. The only loser was Bajaj Auto down 3.29 per cent to $23.51.
 
At the previous day's close the ISDI, which represents the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively-traded companies, closed down 1.06 per cent to 1,134.79 on and was trading at a price to earnings multiple of 22 (down by 1.19 per cent). Among the ISDI American depository receipts, one advanced and seven lost ground.
 
The only gainer was HDFC Bank up 2.41 per cent to $34.44, registering volumes of 95,300 ADRs. The major losers were Dr Reddy's down 3.98 per cent to $30.64, registering volumes of 282,600 ADRs, followed by ICICI Bank down 3.91 per cent to $16.96 with volumes of 11,00,100 ADRs and Satyam Computer down 3.20 per cent to $29.04 with volumes of 13,70,900 ADRs.
 
Among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were nine losers and six gainers. The GDRs of Larsen and Toubro and Hindalco firmed up to $23.90 and $31.76, respectively, as against $23.04 and $31.50, previously.
 
The GDR of Bajaj Auto also declined to $23.51 from $24.31, previously.
