The major gainers were Reliance (up 7.50 per cent to $12.15) registering volumes of 43,970 GDRs, followed by Hindalco (up 3.22 per cent to $21.50) with volumes of 33,599 GDRs and L&T (up 2.83 per cent to $14.55) registering volumes of 63,760 GDRs.
Among 72 Indian depository receipts, Telco was heavily traded in the morning session today registering volumes of 187,090 GDRs.
On October 2, 2003, six of eight ISDI American depositor receipts advanced, and the major gainers were HDFC Bank (up 4.99 per cent to $23.37), Wipro (up 3.85 per cent to $29.96) and Infosys (up 3.03 per cent to $71).
The only losers were Satyam Computer (down 0.36 per cent to $13.75) and ICICI Bank (down 0.27 per cent to $10.90).
The ISDI represents the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively-traded companies and firmed up by 1.76 per cent to 762.39 on October 2, as against its previous level of 749.19, an Instanex Capital release said. The ISDI P/E ratio also looked up by 1.76 per cent to 15.11 as against 14.85, previously.
Among the Indian global depositary receipts and the American depositary receipts, there were 10 gainers, three losers while two ruled steady.
The GDR of Reliance hardened to $21 from $20.00 previously. The GDR of Ranbaxy Labs edged down to $21.75 from $21.80.
