SBI GDR issue rises 2.17%

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.46 per cent to 1,181.75 on December 20, 2004, in early morning trades.
 
Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs) two GDRs advanced two remained unchanged and three lost ground.
 
The major gainers were State Bank of India, up 2.17 per cent to $35.25 and Ranbaxy, up 0.35 per cent to $28.75.
 
The major losers were L&T, down 2.46 per cent to $22.24, Reliance, down 1.75 per cent to $23.33 and ITC, down 0.61 per cent to $28.40.
 
The ISDI, representing the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively-traded companies, eased by 0.15 per cent to 1,177.82 on December 17 from the previous level of 1,179.61.
 
The ISDI price to earnings multiple closed at 20.48 per cent. Among the ISDI ADRs and GDRs, there were seven losers, six gainers and two ruled steady.
 
Among ISDI ADRs, six ADRs advanced and two lost ground.
 
The major gainers were VSNL, up 2.05 per cent to $9.95, Wipro, up two per cent to $25.00 and Infosys, up 1.74 per cent to $69.47. The losers were Satyam, down 2.64 per cent to $24.00, Dr Reddy's, down 1.60 per cent to $19.09.
 
The GDRs of L&T and Ranbaxy dropped to $21.75 and $28.75, respectively from $22.80 and $29.35, previously.
