Scrips In Dull Phase

Zinc stocks have not seen any major movement in the last three months. One of the larger players, Hindustan Zinc, is now under management of Sterlite after being privatised.

The scrip has gone up over 12 per cent since the beginning of November. Today on the Bombay Stock Exchange, the scrip ended at Rs 17.50 against its close at the beginning of November of Rs 15.60.

Binani Industries has fallen over 12 per cent since the beginning of November and today ended the day at Rs 15.55 against Rs 17.80 from the beginning of November.

Binani, which is currently nto a big player in the zinc market in India, is believe to be looking at expanding capacities and increasing its presence overseas.

Hindustan Copper, which also sells zinc as a byproduct and is also under Sterlite, ended the day today at Rs 42.25.

The stock has seen an appreciation of over 28 per cent from its close at the beginning of November of Rs 33.
