Secondary grades see brisk trade

The Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction witnessed good domestic roasters' interest for all secondary coffee grades, owing to drop in Plantation BBB prices.
 
According to auctioneers Carritt Moran and Company, the sale of main grades of Arabica Plantation was irregular and in small quantity. But, prices of Robusta Cherry grades firmed up by Rs 50, following a good domestic demand.
 
The auction witnessed a sale of 87 tonne with 512 tonne (247 tonne of Arabica and 265 tonne of Robusta) on the block. Last week, about 372 tonne were on offer for sale.
 
The prices of Arabica and Robusta varieties quoted at the auction (with the quantity in brackets) are as follows:
 
Arabica Plantation PB Rs 6,119 (1,243 kg), Arabica Plantation MNEB Rs 5,972 (3,045 kg), Arabica Plantation A Rs 5,850 (1,020 kg), Arabica Plantation B Rs 5,230 (458 kg), Arabica Plantation C Rs 4,798 (2,254 kg), Arabica Plantation BBB Rs 3,324 (44,583 kg), Arabica Cherry PB Rs 3,750 (235 kg), Arabica Cherry AA Rs 4,752 (1,235 kg), Arabica Cherry C Rs 3,400 (524 kg), Arabica Cherry BBB Rs 3,243 (484 kg).
 
Robusta Parchment PB Rs 4,000 (594 kg), Robusta Parchment BBB Rs 3,310 (2,935 kg), Robusta Cherry PB Rs 3,535 (5,395 kg), Robusta Cherry AB Rs 3,613 (19,746 kg), Robusta Cherry C Rs 3,451 (1,322 kg), Robusta Cherry BBB Rs 3,304 (4,850 kg).
