Select base metals extend gains on firm demand

Nickel, copper, zinc and brass rose further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained buying from stockists coupled with higher industrial demand. 

While, tin prices moved down on reduced offtake from consumer industries. Nickel hardened by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,280 from its overnight closing level of Rs 1,270. 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, and copper wire bar firmed up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 464, Rs 454 and Rs 492 respectively, as compared to Rs 461, Rs 451 and Rs 489 yesterday. 

Copper utensils scrap, copper sheets cutting, brass utensils scrap, brass sheets cutting and zinc, all inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 423, Rs 437, Rs 306, Rs 313 and Rs 124 respectively. 

However, tin fell by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 1,520 from Rs 1,523 previously.
