Select base metals firm up on higher industrial demand

Select base metals prices firmed up further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on the back of steady offtake from industrial users amidst highly positive trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, copper sheets cutting, copper utensils scrap and copper armiture prices declined owing to lower demand from consumer industries.

Tin strengthened further by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 1,300 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 1,290.

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheets cutting both moved up by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 268 and Rs 280 respectively, as against Rs 266 and Rs 278 previously. 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar, zinc and lead, all inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 409, Rs 400, Rs 437, Rs 126 and Rs 110, respectively.

However, copper sheets cutting fell by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 379 from Rs 382 yesterday.

Copper utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 366 and copper armiture softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 389.
