Select base metals remain up on global cues

Select base metals remained firm and prices rose further up to Rs 3 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on firm global cues.

Traders said increased industrial demand and reports of rising trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange mainly pushed up select base metal prices.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap remained in demand and added Rs 2 each to Rs 514, Rs 537 and Rs 497, respectively, while nickel (4x4) traded higher by Rs 3 to Rs 1,071-1,073 per kg.

Zinc also advanced by a rupee to Rs 139.50 per kg.
