Copra edible and copra Rajapur prices rose sharply at the spices market here today due to heavy stockists demand amidst fall in supplies from growing regions.
Meanwhile, copra Kozhikode and copra Alapuzha declined on reduced retail as well as export offtake.
Copra edible Mumbai shot up by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 7,800 and copra Rajapur Mumbai spurted by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 9,550 from Rs 9,400.
However, copra Kozhikode fell by Rs 75 per quintal to Rs 6,550 as against Rs 6,625 and copra Alapuzha also moved down by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,700 as compared to Rs 6,750 last weekend.
Rest all other spices closed stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.
