Select edible oil prices fell for the second straight day by losing up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, due to slackness in demand at prevailing high levels.

Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks mainly led to a decline in select wholesale edible oil prices.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) fell by Rs 60 and Rs 50 to Rs 6,440 and Rs 6,050 per quintal, respectively.

Crude palm oil (ex-kandla) followed suit and traded lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5,650 per quintal.

On the other hand, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) rose by Rs 100 to Rs 7,500 per quintal, while groundnut solvent refined gained Rs 20 to Rs 1,370-1,380 per tin.

In the non-edible section, neem oil also weakened by Rs 50 to Rs 4,050-4,150 per quintal.
