Select edible oils recovers on global cues

Select edible oil prices recovered by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on scattered buying by vanaspati mills amid firming global trend.

However, non-edible oils remained steady in restricted buying activity from consuming industries.

Trading sentiment turned better after palm oil rose in Malaysia on speculation US farmers may plant less soybeans, reducing output of the crop used to make a rival cooking oil.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures for the most-active June-delivery contract gained 1.3 per cent to $1,088 per metric tonne in Kuala Lumpur.  

In the national capital,soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) recovered by Rs 10 each to Rs 5,730 and Rs 5,690,while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) traded higher by the same margin to Rs 5060 per quintal.

Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (kandla) also enquired higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 5,620 and Rs 5,320 per quintal.
