Select edible oil prices rose up to Rs 20 per quintal on the oils and oilseeds market today on continued buying by retailers, supported by marriage season.
Firming trend in overseas market also influenced the trading sentiment.
Traders said sustained buying by retailers to meet the marriage season demand and reports of rising trend in Malaysia mainly pushed up select wholesale edible oil prices.
Meanwhile, palm oil futures for March-delivery climbed 0.6 per cent to $1,220 a tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
Besides, sustained buying by retailers for the marriage season bolstered the trading sentiment.
