Select edible oils maintained their upward march for the third straight day by adding up to Rs 20 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on increased demand, amid a firm global trend.
Linseed oil in the non-edible section, also showed some strength on fresh enquiries from paint's industries.
Sentiment remained firm as palm oil climbed in Malaysia after concerns eased about an escalation in clashes between South and North Korea, boosting commodity prices.
Meanwhile,palm oil futures for the February-delivery contract jumped 2.3 per cent to $1,017 a tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
Besides, pick up in demand in view of marriage season also influenced the select wholesale edible oil prices, they said.
In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Delhi) oils remained in demand and added Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 5,720 and Rs 5,060, while palmolein (rbd) and crude palm oil (ex-kandla)traded higher by Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 4,900 and Rs 5,630 per quintal.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil also gained Rs 50 to Rs 4,350 per quintal.
