Select edible oil prices firmed up to Rs 90 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on fresh buying by vanaspati millers to meet the rising demand on account of marriage season.
However, non-edible oils remained stable in restricted buying activity.
Traders said fresh buying by vanaspati millers for the ongoing marriage season, mainly led to rise in select wholesale edible oil prices.
In the national capital, crude palm oil (ex-kandla) gained the most by rising Rs 90 to Rs 4,880 per quintal.
Mustard expeller oil (Dadri) and cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) also traded higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,600 and Rs 5,150 per quintal, respectively.
