Select edible oil prices rose up to Rs 30 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on sustained buying by vanaspati millers to meet the ongoing marriage season demand amid firming global trend.
Market analysts said increased buying by vanaspati millers for the marriage season, amid a firming global trend led to rise in select wholesale edible oil prices.
Meanwhile, palm oil futures for April delivery gained 1.5 per cent to $1,227 a tonne in Kuala Lumpur.
In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) strengthened by Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 6,570 and Rs 6,170 per quintal, respectively.
Palmolein (rbd) and crude palm oil (ex-kandla) also moved up by Rs 20 and Rs 30 to Rs 6,270 and Rs 5,400 per quintal.
