Black pepper prices rose at the spices market here today due to brisk buying from stockists and bulk consumers on the back of strong domestic as well as overseas demand.

Elsewhere, copra Rajapur and copra Kozhikode also firmed up owing to increased retail demand amid good offtake from millers.

Black pepper gained Rs 8 per kilo to Rs 303/323 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 295/315.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai went up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 9,000 as compared to Rs 8,900 and copra office Kozhikode moved up by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,950 as against Rs 6,900 last Saturday.

Meanwhile, rest all other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.
