Selected commodity prices down, urad dal up

The prices of sugar, wheat and sooji declined while that of urad dal moved up in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.

Rest all other commodities ruled steady.

Urad dal opened the week on Monday at previous week's rate of Rs 6,200 and traded at the same level up till Friday. However, it later gained Rs 200 per quintal to close at Rs 6,400 today. 

Sooji (90 kg) declined by Rs 100 to Rs 1,800 from last week's rate of Rs 1,900. Sugar fell from Rs 2,750 to 2,780.

Wheat shed Rs 50 to Rs 1,850 from previous week's rate of Rs 1,900

Toor dal (Rs 6,600), moong dal (Rs 6,800), gram dal (Rs 2,900) and maida (Rs 1,700) prices remained unchanged.
