Sensex above 17K, up 125pts in early trades

 Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 1.5% to Rs 775.

Reliance Communications and Satyam have gained 1.3% each at Rs 602 and Rs 417, respectively.

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 70 points at 16,969.

The index is now up  114 points at 17,013.

The index logged the last 1,000 points in just five trading days.
