Despite yesterday's 178points fall, the Sensex opened 112 points higher at 12,065 this morning backed by positive global cues. The index then surged to a high of 12,126, and is now up 169 points at 12,123.
Sterlite has surged over 5% to Rs 479. Hindalco has gained 4% at Rs 65.
DLF, Tata Steel and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 3% each to Rs 253, Rs 278 and Rs 142, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure, HDFC, Tata Motors, SBI, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 2% each.
However, Wipro has shed 1.5% at Rs 354. TCS is down 1% at Rs 629.
