The Sensex continues to exhibit lacklustre movement and is now at 17,488, up 76 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,239, up 17 points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Tata Motors and Sterlite Industries have gained 3% each at Rs 781 and Rs 692, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC and DLF have added around 2% each at Rs 622, Rs 2,914 and Rs 276, respectively on the BSE.
The other gainers are Hindalco, Maruti, TCS and Wipro, up over 1% each.
On the other hand HUL, Reliance Communication and Hero Honda are down 1% each on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, auto and metal indices have added 1% each.
The BSE midcap and the smallcap indices are up 0.5% each.
MTNL has rallied 12% to Rs 63 on the midcap index. Bajaj Hindustan Sugar has soared 20% to Rs 23 on the smallcap index.
