The Sensex has erased some losses and is now down 273 points at 17,819.The NSE Nifty is down 89 points at 5,192.Bajaj Auto has slumped 5.5% to Rs 2,250. Reliance Energy and Hindustan Unilever have plunged around 4.5% each to Rs 2,015 and Rs 198, respectively.ONGC has tumbled nearly 4% to Rs 980. Reliance and Reliance Communications have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 2,488 and Rs 621, respectively.ICICI Bank, NTPC and Tata Motors have slipped around 3% each to Rs 1,181, Rs 205 and Rs 695, respectively.ITC has shed 2% at Rs 197. Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindalco have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 690 and Rs 177, respectively.Maruti and Larsen & Toubro are down over 1% each at Rs 847 and Rs 3,725, respectively.BHEL has surged over 2% to Rs 2,096. Tata Steel and HDFC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 728 and Rs 2,892, respectively.Bharti Airtel, ACC and Ambuja Cements have added 1.3% each to Rs 861, Rs 802 and Rs 119, respectively.Out of 2,748 stocks traded so far, 2,040 have declined, 664 have advanced and 44 are unchanged.
