The markets, after a subdued trading session since the mid-morning trades, has edged lower on extended selling pressure in select heavyweights, banking, tech and auto majors. The Sensex, as a result, has scaled down 23 points to 6,656 in current trades, while the Nifty has dipped 11 points to 2,087.Reliance has slipped by a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 538. Infosys (down Rs 8 to Rs 2,161) is trading off-lows.SBI has shed 1.38% (Rs 9) to Rs 656, while HDFC Bank has lost 1.10% (Rs 6) to Rs 563.Satyam has declined 1.71% (Rs 7) to Rs 414, and Wipro is down Rs 4 at Rs 707.Hero Honda has declined nearly 2% (Rs 11) to Rs 553. While Bajaj has inched lower by a per cent (Rs 8) to Rs 1,070, Tata Motors is trading lower by 1.30% (Rs 7) at Rs 501.Hindalco has tumbled 1.69% (Rs 23) to Rs 1,360, and HPCL is down 1.70% (Rs 6) at Rs 363. BHEL at Rs 848 (down Rs 12 or 1.43%) and Reliance Energy at Rs 566 (down Rs 8 or 1.46%) are also exhibting weak trends. Gujarat Ambuja and ACC are trading at subdued levels at Rs 444 (down Rs 3) and Rs 372 (down Rs 2), respectively. Grasim is marginally up at Rs 1,365.L&T has gained 1.58% (Rs 16) to Rs 1,017, while Tata Power is up 1.98% (Rs 8) at Rs 417. HLL is up a rupee at Rs 153.Dr. Reddy's is trading with a steady gain of 1.37% (Rs 10) at Rs 753, and Ranbaxy is up a per cent (Rs 8) at Rs 1,059. Cipla is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 274.
