Sensex down 180pts; TCS drops 7%

The Sensex is now down 180 points at 11,621.

Sterlite and Mahindra & Mahindra have slumped 7.5% each to Rs 310 and Rs 465, respectively.

TCS has tumbled over 7% to Rs 575, and Larsen & Toubro has plunged 6.5% to Rs 1,012.

Satyam and HDFC Bank have dropped over 6% each to Rs 276 and Rs 1,127, respectively.

Wipro and Tata Power have shed 4.4% each at Rs 305 and Rs 764, respectively. ITC is down 3.6% at Rs 174.

NTPC has surged 3.7% to Rs 175. Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 361 and Rs 751, respectively.

Ranbaxy has gained 2.7% at Rs 253. BHEL and Grasim have moved up over 2% each to Rs 1,482 and Rs 1,626, respectively.

Reliance Infrastrucutre and Maruti are up nearly 2% each at Rs 650 and Rs 672, respectively.

Out of 2,662 stocks traded so far, 1,899 have declined, 709 have advanced and 54 are unchanged.
