Sensex down 224pts; ACC down 4%

The NSE Nifty is down 67 points at 5,015.

ACC has tumbled 3.8% at Rs 715, and HDFC Bank has plunged 3.6% each to Rs 1454.

Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance have shed 3.3% each to Rs 260 and Rs 2,579, respectively.

Hindalco is down 2.8% to Rs 175.

HDFC, Reliance Energy and ICICI Bank have declined over 2% each to Rs 2,657, Rs 1363 and 873, respectively.

TCS and BHEL have slipped over 1.7% each to Rs 927 and Rs 1,730, respectively.

Ambuja Cements, Cipla and SBI have declined over 1.5% each.

Out of 2,715 stocks traded, 1,735 have declined, 914 have advanced and 66 are unchanged.
