The NSE Nifty is down 54 points at 5,082.
ITC has slumped 5.5% to Rs 215.
Satyam has plunged 3.6% to Rs 472. Infosys, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro have shed over 3% to Rs 1,786, Rs 892 and Rs 2,902, respectively.
Reliance Energy has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,402. Jaiprakash Associates has slipped over 2% to Rs 269.

HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and TCS are down nearly 2% each to Rs 1,514, Rs 667 and Rs 949, respectively.
Tata Steel has surged 2% to Rs 841. Bharti Airtel has advanced over 1.5% to Rs 828, and ACC is up 1.3% at Rs 746.
Out of 2,695 stocks traded so far, 1,621 have declined and 1,009 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
